ORDINANCE NO. 116
AN OHDINANCE RELATING ~'O 'fHE HEGISTBAfION OF YO'fERS IN THE
CITY OF SE~URD, ALASKA.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COLIMON CCUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD:
Se~iion 1. That no person shall be entitled to vote at any
general or special municipal election in the City of Seward who is
not registered aooording to the provisions of this ordinanoe; and no
other registration of voters for any such election shall be required
except as in this ordinance provided.
Section 2. The Municipal Clerk shall provide and shall. on t}
morning of such eleotion and before the opening of the polls, delive
to the Judges of Eleotion, at any general or special munioipal eleotl
in the City of Seward, a register of voters. One of the judges of
election shall keep said register, in which each person, before votin,
shall be required to sign his name, together with a statement of his
age, sex, and plaoe of residenoe, if he is capable of doing so, other-
wise his name shall be signed by the judge of election ke~ing said
register. The signing of the register by the person himself, or for
him, at his request and in his presenoe by the judge of eleotion, shall
constitute a declaration by suoh person that he is legally tualified
to vote a* suoh eleotion.
Seotion 3. All ordinances. or parts of ordinanoes inoonsistent
or in oonflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed
to the extent of suoh inconsistenoy or conflict.
