ORDINANCE 148
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 4 OF O~N~~~~~~~B~ING
REGULATING THE RATES ~ND FEES MADE AND COLLECTED BY THE
TOWN OF SEWARD ALASKA FOR ELECTRICAL AND OTHER
SERVICES AND COMMODITIES FURNISHED BY
IT; AND R~PEALING ALL ORDINANCES
OR PORTIONS THEREOF CONFLICTING
WITH THE FOLLOWING ORDINANCE 148
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
AND
Section 1. That the rates, fees and charges hereinafter set
forth are reasonable rates, fees, and charges to be made and col-
lected for the services, facilities and commodities of the Munieipa
Electric System of said Town of Seward, and such rates, fees and
charges are necessary as such to produce revenue at lea~ sufficient
(a) to pay when due all bonds and interest thereon, for the payment
of which such revenue is or shall have been pledged, charged, or
otherwise encumbered, including reserves therefor; and ( b ) to
provide for all expenses of operation and maintenance of said syste ,
including reserves therefor. That the rates heretofore established
having proven inadequate to meet the conditions in this section
set forth, now therefore they shall be as follows:
Section 2. That Section 4, of Ordinance 135 of the City of Seward,
Alaska, be and the same is hereby AMENDED to read as follows:
"Section 4. The service rate and charges to be made and collected
for services of the Municipal Electric System of the Town of Seward
laska, and the classifications thereof are as follows:
1. DOMESTIC RATE:
.10~ per KWH for first 40 KWH
&08~ per KWH for next, 20 KWH
.03~ per KWH for allover 60 KWH
20 COMMERCIAL RATE:
&10~ per KWH for first 100 KWH
.06~ per KWH for next 400 KWH
.04~ per KWH for allover 500 KWH
3. POWER RATE:

.06 for first 500 KWH
.05 for allover 500 KWH
4. OFF PEAK COMMERCIAL BAKING LOAD RATE:
.04~ for first 500 KWH
.03~ for next 500 KWH
.02~ for allover 1000 KWH
50 MINIMUM RATES:
$1.50 for a connected load of less than
5000 watts
$3&00 for a connected load of ~r. than
5000 watts

6. WATER HBATING-RATE:
.06 for first 500 KWH
.05 for allover 500 KWH
Section 3. That after the enactment and approval of this
Ordinance, the same shall be published, once, in the Seward
Gateway, a newspaper of general circulation, published tri-weekly
in the Town of Seward, Alaska.
Section 4. An emergency is hereby declared to exist and this
ordinance shell take effect immediately on and from its date of
passage and approval.
Section 5. This ordinance shall become of full force and effe
on this 29th day of September, 1941.
Passed under suspension of the rules this 29th day of Septemb r,
1941.
