ORDINANCE NO. x~i~ 159
For the 6ale to the United States of
America of Lots ~l, 32, and 33, Block 16.
BE IT BNACTED by the Common Council of the City of Seward,
.uly assembled in quorum this 6th day of December. 1943, that
WHEREAS, the City of Seward held legal title to Lots 31,32
and 33, in Block 16 of the Sew~rd ~wa.Townsite according to the
official plat thereof, and
WHEREAS, said property has not b, the City bean devoted
to any public use, and
WHEREAS the United States of America has instutmted a
,
condemnation proceeding for the acquisition of s~id property,
the same being CAuse NQ. S-2743 Civil in the District Court for
the Third Division, Territory of Alaska, and
WHEREAS, said property is to be and has been devoted
to the building and maintenaDce of a U.S.O. structure, and
WHEREAS, the advantages to the City of Seward are far
in excess III of the value of said real estate; and that it is th
desire of the Council that the United States of America acquire
said property for the nominal consideration of $1~00, now,therefrB,
BE IT ENACTED jhat the City of Seward, transfer to the
United States of America all of its right, title and interest
in and to Lots 31, 32 and 33 of Block 16 of the Seward Townsit,
according to the official plat thereof, for the consideration
of $1.00, and
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the City Attorney be and he
is hereby authorized to execute such stipuletions and other
document. as are necessary to effectuate the intention of
this ordinance and agree on behalf of the City of Seward that
$1.00 is full K~M compensation for the lands above described
taken by the United StatUs of America in the a bove mentioned
condemnation proceeding.
