HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd1947-168 ORDINANOE NO. 168 N ORDINANCE TO CREATE A PUBLIC UTILITY BOARD TO FUNCTIONAS AN ADVa;SORY BOARD TO THE COMMON COUNCIL OF 'fHE TOWN OF SEWARD, ALASKA. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF SEW~RD, ALASKA MEETING IN SPECIAL SESSION ON THIS 25th DAY OF BEBRUARY It$I 1947 THAT A BOARD BE CREATED AND KNOWN AS A PUBLIC UTILITY BOARD. This board shall consist of five members. One member shall be elec e< to serve for a term of one year, one for two years, one for three years, one for four years and one for five YBars. The length of time for which each member shall serve is to be designated on the Ballot. Thereafter, one member shall be elected at each general unicipal election to serve for a term of five years. The Board before entering upon it's duties of office shall severally take an oath in writing to faithfully and honestly discharge the duties of their office. In case of a vacancy in the membership of said Board from death, resignation, removal or other causes, such vacancy shall be filled by the remaining members of the board until the ext general election, at which election a member shall be elected to fill the unexpired term. In case the remaining members cannot gree they shall call a special election for filling such vacancy. The Board shall choose it's own Chairman and Secretary. owers of the Board: he Board shall have the authority to appoint the Manager or Supt. f of Utilities for a term of not longer than five (5) years.
