RESOLUTION NO. 86-35
A RESOlilTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, AlASKA, AUTHORIZING ]WIARD OF A SOLE SOURCE
CONTRACT ro GENERAL TELEPHONE CCW'ANY OF ALASKA ro EXTEND
TELEPHONE SERVICE TO THE SPRING CREEK CORRECTIONAL FACILITY
~VHEREAS, Section 10-8 of the Seward City Code provides an
exception to specified bid procedures when contracting services frcrn a
public utility corporation at a price determined by a state or other
governnental authority; and
~VHEREAS, General Telephone Company of Alaska is a public
telephone utility certified by the Alaska Public Utilities Commission;
and
WHEREAS, the telephone service installation to Spring Creek
Correctional Facility is being installed in accordance with an APUC
approved tariff; and
WHEREAS, the proposed installation is found to be the least
costly and ll"Ost reasonable rreans of providing telephone service to the
Spring Creek Correctional Facility; and
WHEREAS, General Telephone Conpany of Alaska has estinated the
cost of said installation to be $105,000; and
WHEREAS, in compliance with General Telephone Company of
Alaska's tariff policy, the City of Seward will be billed at actual cost
for construction;
NCW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to sign a
contract with General Telephone Conpany of Alaska for construction of
telephone service to the Spring Creek Correctional Facility for an
estinated cost of $105,000.
Section 2. There is hereby established within the Spring
Creek Correctional Facility Construction Account a Telephone Service
Construction Budget not to exceed $121,000.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect imrediately upon
its adoption.
