RESOLUTION NO. 86-46
A RESOLUTICN OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING PARrICIPATICN IN THE STATE
DAY CARE ASSISTANCE PRCGRAM PURSUANT TO AS 44.47.250-310
WHEREAS, AS 44.47.310 authorizes municipalities or other
organizations to contract with the State for the impleIlEntation and
administration of a program to assist in providing day care for the
children of low and rroderate incorre families; and
WHERF.AS, the City of Seward wishes to continue to provide a
Day Care Assistance Program in our conmuni ty;
Na-l, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to apply to
the Department of Conmunity and Regional Affairs on behalf of the City
of Seward for funds to impleIlEnt and administer a program to assist in
providing day care for children of low and rroderate incorre families in
the oommuni ty .
Section 2. The City Manager is further authorized to act on
behalf of the CIty of Seward to accept any offer of funds frcrn the
Department and to execute a contract with the Department to implerrent
and administer said program.
Section 3. THe City Manager is also authorized to execute any
subsequent arrendrrents to said contract to provide for increases or
decreases in the program funds =rmitted to the oommunity, based upon
program needs i the oommunity and those of other ccmnunities throughout
the State.
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect i1rm2diately upon
its adoption.
