<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Sponsored by: Janke <br /> <br />CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA <br />RESOLUTION 2000-109 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, <br />ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO REVISE THE <br />SEWARD MARINE INDUSTRIAL CENTER UPLAND BOAT WORKS <br />POLICY, DELETING THE PROHmITION OF THE USE OF SILICA SAND <br />AS A BLAST MATERIAL. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Seward City Council approved adoption of the Seward Marine Industrial <br />Center Upland Boat Work Policy at their June 26,2000 regular meeting; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Seward City Council directed the administration to reschedule the policy as <br />revised for the July 24,2000 regular meeting agenda where it was approved as revised by Resolution <br />2000-077; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to periodically review the policy; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in response to a complaint by a citizen concerning the prohibition on the use of <br />silica sand as a blast material, the City Council directed the administration to bring the matter before <br />council at the September 25, 200 meeting for review; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: <br /> <br />Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to revise the Seward Marine Industrial Center <br />Upland Boat Works Policy, Best Management Practices, deleting the prohibition on the use of silica <br />sand as a blast material. <br /> <br />Section 2.
