<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Sponsored by: Janke <br /> <br />CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA <br />RESOLUTION 2000-132 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, <br />ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A <br />CONTRACT WITH CIC, INC. TO CONSTRUCT THE NORTH FOREST <br />ACRES LEVEE EXTENSION AND UPGRADE OF DIMOND BOULEVARD <br />AT A COST NOT TO EXCEED $566,643, WITH FINANCING FROM THE <br />FLOOD MITIGATION PROJECT ACCOUNT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a request for bids to construct the Japanese Creek Levee Extension and the <br />Dimond Blvd. upgrade was properly advertised; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City is at risk ofa serious flood if the levee is not extended; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, funds have been appropriated to cover the cost of this project; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a 10% contingency has been added to the contractors bid price to cover the cost <br />of any unforseen problem which may arise during construction; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the engineering and permitting have been completed for this project; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: <br /> <br />Section 1. City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with CIC Inc. to construct the <br />Japanese Creek Levee Extension and the Upgrade of Dimond Blvd., at a cost not to exceed $566,643 <br />with financing from NRCS and FEMA Flood mitigation project, Account 666-666X-5390. <br /> <br />Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. <br /> <br />PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council ofthe city of Seward, Alaska, this 6th day <br />of November, 2000. <br />
