Sponsored by: Staff <br />CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA <br />HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />RESOLUTION 2007-04 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE SEWARD HISTORIC PRESERVATION <br />COMMISSION, SELECTING "PROVIDING PUBLIC ACCESS TO THE <br />SEWARD HISTORICAL SITE INVENTORY" AS THE GRANT <br />PROJECT FOR THE FY-08 STATE OF ALASKA, DEPARTMENT OF <br />NATURAL RESOURCES, HISTORIC PRESERVATION FUND GRANT, <br />and RECOMMENDING CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZE THE CITY <br />MANAGER TO SUBMIT THE FY'08 GRANT APPLICATION TO THE <br />OFFICE OF HISTORY AND ARCHAEOLOGY, ALASKA DIVISION OF <br />PARKS AND OUTDOOR RECREATION <br />WHEREAS, each year the State of Alaska, Department of Natural Resources, Historic <br />Preservation Office offers a Historic Preservation Fund Grant to Certified Local Governments; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sewazd, Historic Preservation Commission has applied for and <br />has been awarded several of the annual Historic Preservation Fund Grants in the past; and <br />r.... WHEREAS, Providing Public Access to the Seward Historical Site Inventory has been a <br />priority of the Commission; and <br />WHEREAS, the Commission supports the need for a database of the Seward Register of <br />Historic Places and the Seward Historical Site Inventory and the web pages to display this <br />information on; and <br />WHEREAS, a website/database designer shall be contracted to develop the database for <br />the Sewazd Register of Historic Places and the Seward Historical Site Inventory and develop the <br />web pages to display the database information; and <br />WHEREAS, the total project cost for providing public access to the Seward Historical <br />Site Inventory is estimated at $6,500.00, with a federal share of $4,173.00, and a local match of <br />$2,?82.00; and <br />WHEREAS, the City's match for this project shall be provided by in-kind services of the <br />Historic Preservation Commissioners. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Seward Historic Preservation <br />Commission that: <br />Section 1.
