Sponsored by: Applicant <br />CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA <br />PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br />RESOLUTION 20117-17 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE SEWARD PLANNING AND ZONING <br />COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SEWAItD, ALASKA, <br />GRANTING A SIX MONTH EXTENSION TO CONDITIONAL <br />USE PERMIT NO. 2007-03, ISSUED TO TOM & LORI SWANN <br />FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF AN 11-ROOM HOTEL AT 504 <br />ADAMS STREET LOCATED IN A CENTRAL BUSINESS ZONING <br />DISTRICT (CBD) <br />WHEREAS, on April S, 2007 the Planning and Zoning Commission approved <br />Resolution 2007-OS granting a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) to Tom and Lori Swann for <br />the development of an 11 room hotel at 504 Adams Street; and <br />WHEREAS, the Seward Zoning Code (SCC) § 15.10.320.G(1 } stipulates an <br />approved CUP lapses six (6) months after approval if no building permit is procured or if <br />the allowed use is not initiated; and <br />WHEREAS, (SCC) § 15.10.320.G(2) states the Commission may grant time <br />extensions not to exceed six (6) months each upon a finding that circumstances have not <br />changed sufficiently to warrant a reconsideration of the approval of the CUP; and <br />WHEREAS, On September 4, 2007, Tom and Lori Swann requested a six month <br />extension for CUP 2007-03, stating within the request there had been no changes to the <br />original plan. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Seward Planning and Zoning <br />Commission that: <br />Section 1. Circumstances have not changed sufficiently to warrant reconsideration of the <br />Conditional Use Permit issued to Tom and Lori Swann on April S, 200? to develop an 11 <br />room hotel. <br />Section 2. Conditional Use Permit number 2007-03, issued to Tom and Lori Swann on <br />Apri15, 2007 is hereby extended until Apri15, 2008. <br />+~ Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. <br />
