Sponsored by: Oates <br />CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA <br />RESOLUTION 2009-090 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE SEWARD CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SEWARD, AUTHORIZING AN ADDITIONAL FIFTY THOUSAND <br />DOLLARS ($50,000) AS A POTENTIAL CONTINGENCY FOR UNIT <br />COMPANY'S CONTRACT TO CONSTRUCT SEWARD MOUNTAIN <br />HAVEN LONG TERM CARE FACILITY <br />WHEREAS, on April 14, 2008 the City Council authorized the City Manager to enter <br />into a contract with UNIT Company to build the Long Term Care Facility for an amount not-to- <br />exceed $22 million dollars; and <br />WHEREAS, diligence and successful team work with the contractor, architect, City of <br />Seward and Providence Alaska has kept the contract price at $22 million; and <br />WHEREAS, as we near the end of the project, additional code compliance items and <br />Providence operator needs have the potential to add additional costs to the contract; and <br />WHEREAS, no contingency was authorized associated with the original construction <br />contract. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA that: <br />Section 1. Funding in the amount of fifty thousand ($50,000) is hereby appropriated <br />from the Long-Term Care Facility bond proceeds account number 670-6700-4100 to the <br />contracted services account 670-6700-5390. <br />Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. <br />PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Seward, Alaska, this 28th day <br />of September, 2009. <br />THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA <br />Clark Corbridge, Mayor <br />
