Sponsored by: Oates <br />CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA <br />RESOLUTION 2009-091 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE SEWARD CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SEWARD, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A <br />CONTRACT WITH RISE ALASKA, LLC (RISE) FOR PROFESSIONAL <br />PROJECT MANAGEMENT SERVICES THROUGH SCHEMATIC <br />DESIGN OF A NEW CO-LOCATED LIBRARY MUSEUM FACILITY <br />AND TO APPROPRIATE FUNDING NOT-TO-EXCEED THIRTY SIX <br />THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED AND TEN DOLLARS ($36,710) <br />WHEREAS, in accordance with Seward City Code 6.10.310 the City of Seward <br />submitted a request for proposals for professional project management services for the library <br />museum project; and <br />WHEREAS, RISE earned the most points with the request for proposal grading criteria <br />approved by the Seward City Council; and <br />WHEREAS, RISE's proposal was $36,710 to perform project management services <br />through the schematic design phase; and <br />WHEREAS, the scope of the project management services includes assisting the City in <br />,,, selecting a design team, negotiating the design contract and overseeing the design team's work <br />during the schematic design phase; and <br />WHEREAS, the Seward Community Library Museum Building Committee (SCLMBC) <br />will provide the funding and transfer $36,710 to the City's designated account to finance this <br />contract. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA that: <br />Section L The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with RISE ALASKA, <br />LLC to provide project management services through schematic design for a cost not-to-exceed <br />thirty-six thousand seven hundred and ten dollars ($36,710.00). <br />Section 2. Funding in the amount of $36,710 will be provided by the SCLMBC to the <br />Seward Community Library Museum Project fund account number 826-8264-4100. <br />Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. <br />PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Seward, Alaska, this 28th day <br />of September, 2009. <br />
