Sponsored by: Oates <br /> CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA <br /> RESOLUTION 2009 -123 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, <br /> ALASKA, APPROVING AMENDMENT NO. 14 TO THE CONTRACT <br /> WITH HOFFMAN, SILVER, GILMAN & BLASCO, P.C. TO EXTEND <br /> THE TERM FOR FEDERAL LOBBYING REPRESENTATION <br /> THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2011 FOR A TOTAL OF $6416.66 PER <br /> QUARTER IN 2010 AND $7,058.33 PER QUARTER IN 2011 <br /> WHEREAS, a contract for federal lobbying services with the firms Robertson, Monagle <br /> & Eastaugh and Zane and Associates (now Hoffman, Silver, Gilman & Blasco, P.C.) was <br /> entered into January 13, 1997; and <br /> WHEREAS, this contract has been extended each year since; and <br /> WHEREAS, the contract expires December 31, 2007; and <br /> WHEREAS, the continuation of federal lobbying services is beneficial to the city as the <br /> firms provide Seward with a voice in Washington, D.C.; and <br /> WHEREAS, the firms have been very responsive to the city's needs and concerns and <br /> have provided regular status reports. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: <br /> Section 1. The City Council hereby approves Amendment No. 14 to the contract with <br /> Hoffman, Silver, Gilman & Blasco, P.C. to extend the term for federal lobbying representation <br /> through December 31, 2011. <br /> Section 2.
