Sponsored by: Historic Preservation Commission <br /> i "` CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA <br /> RESOLUTION 2010 -041 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, <br /> ALASKA PLACING THE SEWARD LIGHT AND POWER COMPANY <br /> INTAKE BUILDING ON THE SEWARD REGISTER OF HISTORIC <br /> PLACES <br /> WHEREAS, City Council Ordinance No. 95 -10, established the Seward Register of Historic <br /> Places in order to locally recognize properties important in Seward's history; and <br /> WHEREAS, an application to place the Seward Light and Power Company Intake Building <br /> on the Seward Register of Historic Places was submitted and reviewed by the Historic Preservation <br /> Commission; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Seward Light and Power Company Intake Building application has been <br /> reviewed and the recommendation approved by the Resurrection Bay Historical Society as per <br /> procedure for nomination to the Seward Register of Historic Places; and <br /> WHEREAS, at its February 17, 2010 meeting, the Seward Historic Preservation <br /> Iwo <br /> Commission determined that the Seward Light and Power Company Intake Building was eligible for <br /> listing on the Seward Register of Historic Places; and <br /> WHEREAS, at its March 17, 2010 meeting, the Seward Historic Preservation Commission <br /> approved Resolution 2010 -02, recommending that the Seward City Council place the Seward Light <br /> and Power Company Intake Building on the Seward Register of Historic Places. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF SEWARD, ALASKA that: <br /> Section 1. The City Council hereby places the Seward Light and Power Company Intake <br /> Building on the Seward Register of Historic Places as authorized by Seward City Code 15.15.010. <br /> Section 2. This designation is to recognize historical significance only, with no other legal <br /> ramifications. <br /> Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. <br /> PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Seward, this 26 day of <br /> April 2010. <br />
