RESOLUTION 2010 -068 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, <br /> ALASKA, SUPPORTING THE ROAD AND SIDEWALK PRIORITY <br /> LISTS THAT ARE TO BE FUNDED USING THE STATEWIDE <br /> TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM AND FEDERAL <br /> EARMARK MONIES ADMINISTERED THROUGH ADOT &PF <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Seward currently has two earmarks with ADOT; and <br /> WHEREAS, the first earmark grants the City of Seward $2,000,000 in funding for road <br /> improvement and does not require a match from the City; and <br /> WHEREAS, the second earmark grants the City of Seward $2,700,000 in funding for <br /> road, sidewalk and drainage improvement and does require a match for the City; and <br /> WHEREAS, a draft list of priorities were presented to the city council on March 8, 2010 <br /> and modified to come up with a defined priority list for expending the available funding; and <br /> WHEREAS, the city council solicited public input on these priorities and have been <br /> provided copies of all comments; and <br /> WHEREAS, in order to obligate these funds, the City must provide a defined scope of <br /> work by no later than September 2010 or the funds may be reallocated; and <br /> WHEREAS, the attached priority lists define the roads and sidewalks in which the City <br /> wishes to expend the federal grant monies. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> SEWARD, ALASKA: <br /> Section 1. The City of Seward, City Council adopts the road and sidewalk <br /> priorities as attached that are to be funded using the Statewide Transportation <br /> Improvement Program and Federal Earmark monies. <br /> Section 2. The City of Seward City Council authorizes the City Manager to <br /> negotiate the priorities and costs with ADOT &PF to formulate a final scope of <br /> work. <br /> Section 3. This resolution shall take affect immediately upon its adoption. <br /> PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Seward, Alaska, and this 26 <br /> fir.. <br /> day of July 2010. <br />
