Sponsored by: Oates <br /> CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA <br /> kirro <br /> RESOLUTION 2010 -069 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE SEWARD CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING <br /> THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AMENDMENT NUMBER <br /> TWO WITH RISE ALASKA, LLC (RISE) FOR PROFESSIONAL <br /> PROJECT MANAGEMENT SERVICES THROUGH 65% DESIGN FOR <br /> THE NEW CO- LOCATED LIBRARY MUSEUM FACILITY, <br /> APPROPRIATING ADDITIONAL FUNDING NOT -TO- EXCEED FORTY <br /> NINE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($49,500) AND <br /> ACCEPTING GRANT FUNDS TOTALING $4.7 MILLION FROM THE <br /> STATE OF ALASKA <br /> WHEREAS, in accordance with Seward City Code 6.10.310 the City of Seward <br /> submitted a request for proposals for professional project management services for the library <br /> museum project; and <br /> WHEREAS, RISE earned the most points with the request for proposal grading criteria <br /> approved by the Seward City Council and was awarded the professional services agreement to <br /> perform project management services through the Schematic Design phase with Resolution <br /> 2009 -091; and <br /> r.. WHEREAS, Council approved Resolution 2010 -22 Amendment #1 with RISE Alaska to <br /> develop and issue a request for proposal to select a construction firm to act as consultant to the <br /> owner in the development and design phase; and <br /> WHEREAS, the State of Alaska awarded the Library/Museum Project $4.7 Million <br /> dollars in the State's Capital budget; and <br /> WHEREAS, the project can now move forward through Design Development (65% <br /> Design) with RISE providing Project Management Services with Amendment #2 for an amount <br /> not to exceed forty five thousand dollars ($45,000) to include museum visioning and design, <br /> design proposal review, meeting facilitation, meeting documentation, alternate building system <br /> review, and other services as outlined in their original proposal and contract; and <br /> WHEREAS, an additional 10% contingency is being included in this Amendment #2 for <br /> a total amount not to exceed forty nine thousand five hundred dollars ($49,500); and <br /> WHEREAS, the current total contract amount with RISE is one hundred twelve <br /> thousand three hundred and ten dollars ($112,310), including contingency; and <br /> WHEREAS, further Project Management Services for Construction Documents (100% <br /> Design) and Construction Management will come before the Council for contract approval and <br /> fund appropriations. <br />
