Sponsored by: Oates <br /> halo CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA <br /> RESOLUTION 2010 -080 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, <br /> ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A <br /> CONTRACT WITH SERVICE ELECTRIC, INC. FOR A TOTAL <br /> PROJECT AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $345,300 TO DESIGN AND <br /> IMPLEMENT A SECURITY CAMERA SYSTEM <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Seward City Council approved Resolution 2009 -51 accepting a <br /> grant from the Homeland Security Grant Program in the amount of $350,000. for the purpose of <br /> expanding and updating infrastructure security cameras; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Seward issued a Request for Proposals to design and implement <br /> a security camera system. The RFP was advertised on 5/27/2010 in the Seward Phoenix Log and <br /> on 5/23/2010 and 5/27/2010 in the Anchorage Daily news; and <br /> WHEREAS, there was one proposal received and this proposal met the grading criteria <br /> as specified in the bid documents; and <br /> WHEREAS, as a result of the evaluation process, Service Electric, Inc. was selected as <br /> the qualified and responsive bidder as required by Seward City Code§ 6.10.135 and SCC§ <br /> 6.10.340. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA that: <br /> Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with Service Electric, <br /> Inc. to design and implement a security camera system for the amount of $345,300. <br /> Section 2. Transfer funding in the amount of $345,300 from the Homeland Security <br /> Camera grant account no. 651- 6514- 4680 -0200, and appropriate it to equipment account no. <br /> 651- 6514 -5930, for the design and implementation of a security camera system. <br /> Section 3. The total project amount includes the cost for prevailing wage rates that are <br /> inherent to municipal funded projects in the State of Alaska mandated by the Little Davis Bacon <br /> Act for public construction projects $2,000 or more in value. <br /> Section 4. This resolution shall take affect immediately upon its adoption. <br />
