Sponsored by: Port and Commerce Advisory Board <br /> item CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA <br /> RESOLUTION 2012 -060 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, <br /> ALAKSA, RECOMMENDING THE REVISION OF THE 2012 AND 2013 <br /> HARBOR TARIFFS TO CORRECT ERRORS, ESTABLISH NEW WAIT <br /> LIST CATEGORIES AND TO EXTEND THE MONTHS WHEN <br /> PERMANENT SLIP ASSIGNMENTS ARE MADE <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Seward, Harbor Department has found certain discrepancies in the <br /> 2012 and 2013 Harbor Tariff; and <br /> WHEREAS, it has been the City's practice and intention to maintain wait lists for 60, 90, <br /> and 100 foot slips; and <br /> WHEREAS, with the completion of Z -Float a new wait list category for side -tie moorage for <br /> vessels between 105 and 150 feet can benefit both harbor customers and the City; and <br /> WHEREAS, permanent slip assignments from the wait list can be made year- round. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> lo OF SEWARD, ALASKA that: <br /> Section 1. Subsection 200 of the 2012 and 2013 Harbor Tariffs are hereby updated as <br /> follows (additions listed in bold italic, deletions listed in strip): <br /> SECTION II - SERVICES AND CHARGES <br /> Subsection <br /> 200 MOORAGE <br /> Outside the Small Boat Harbor: Vessels berthing or departing city docks, wharves, or any <br /> other terminal facility, including the shiplift system, must use sufficient tugs so that vessels <br /> can be berthed or removed in a safe manner. Berthing speed shall not exceed sixteen feet per <br /> minute, unless approved by the Harbormaster. <br /> Within the Small Boat Harbor: <br /> (a) Assignment of Berths. The Small Boat Harbor is often congested and it is the policy of <br /> the City of Seward to provide for the maximum public use of available facilities. The <br /> Harbormaster shall have discretion to implement that policy. <br /> ••• Berth assignments to particular slips on the City of Seward float system are made by <br /> the Harbormaster.
