Sponsored by: Hunt <br /> kisio CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA <br /> RESOLUTION 2012 -091 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, <br /> ALASKA, APPROPRIATING $208,150.00 OF COMMERCIAL PASSENGER <br /> VESSEL (CPV) TAX FUNDS TO PROVIDE PAVEMENT REPAIRS AND <br /> STRIPING AT THE ALASKA RAILROAD CORPORATION (ARRC) <br /> CRUISE SHIP TERMINAL IN SUPPORT OF CRUISE SHIPS AND THEIR <br /> PASSENGERS <br /> WHEREAS, the ARRC has identified two projects providing improvements to Port <br /> infrastructure directly benefiting the Cruise Line Ships and Passengers coming into Seward; and <br /> WHEREAS, to improve safety, security and accessibility for Cruise Ship Passengers, ARRC <br /> will replace asphalt pavement and provide striping with additional signage in the Cruise Ship <br /> Terminal Parking lot for a project total of $131,000; and <br /> WHEREAS, this signage to include but not limited to a sign that directs guests to the <br /> railroad depot, Seward Small Boat Harbor, and downtown Seward. These signs should be placed <br /> outside the terminal for pedestrians and vehicle traffic to clearly direct guests; and <br /> WHEREAS, the restricted CPV funds will be spent in compliance with AS 43.52.230(b) for <br /> Alaska's Cruise Ship Passengers with Cruise Ship Dock maintenance /repairs and improving the <br /> terminal facility Cruise Ship Passenger pedestrian area including independent transportation and <br /> outside luggage drop off sites; and <br /> WHEREAS, a 15% contingency, $27,150, will be added bringing the project total to <br /> $208,150 to provide for any unforeseen additions as the projects develop beyond the initial cost <br /> estimates. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF SEWARD, ALASKA that: <br /> Section 1. The City Council hereby authorizes the payment up to $208,150 from the <br /> Commercial Passenger Vessel Fund Account No. 807 - 0000 - 3071 -0276 to be paid to the Alaska <br /> Railroad Corporation for expenses related to Pavement Repairs and Striping at the Cruise Ship <br /> Terminal. <br /> Section 2. Signage shall include clear direction to the railroad depot, Seward downtown, and <br /> Small Boat Harbor, a sign to direct guests to baggage drop off, a larger sign to direct guests to <br /> restrooms inside the terminal, and any other sign that the terminal deems necessary. <br /> `„� Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. <br />
