Sponsored by: Hunt <br /> CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA <br /> RESOLUTION 2014-007 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, <br /> ALASKA, DEFINING THE SCOPE OF WORK AND SUPPORTING THE <br /> ROAD PRIORITY LIST THAT IS TO BE FUNDED USING THE <br /> STATEWIDE TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT AND FEDERAL <br /> EARMARK MONIES ADMINISTERED THROUGH ALASKA <br /> DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND PUBLIC SAFETY <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Seward currently has an earmark with the Alaska Department of <br /> Transportation in the amount of$2,700,000, requiring a match of$300,000 from the City; and <br /> WHEREAS,an original draft list of priorities was presented to the City Council on March 8, <br /> 2010 and approved by council on July 26,2010 to come up with a defined priority list for expending <br /> the available funding; and <br /> WHEREAS,action was not taken at that time and the monies were reallocated,requiring the <br /> City of Seward to submit a new priority list for 2014; and <br /> WHEREAS, the 2010 priority list has been updated and a draft list of road improvement <br /> projects by priority is attached; and <br /> WHEREAS, in order to receive these funds, the City must provide a defined scope of work <br /> and list the roads to be repaired; and <br /> WHEREAS,the attached road improvement projects by priority defines the City's wishes to <br /> expend the federal grant monies. <br /> NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF SEWARD, ALASKA that: <br /> Section 1. The City of Seward, City Council adopts the road improvement priorities, as <br /> substantially presented at this meeting, to be funded using the Statewide Transportation <br /> Improvement Program, Federal Earmark and City of Seward monies. <br /> Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. <br /> PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Seward. Alaska, this 13`11 <br /> day of January, 2014. <br />
