Sponsored by: Port and Commerce Advisory Board <br /> CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA <br /> RESOLUTION 2014-037 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, <br /> ALASKA ADOPTING THE PORT AND COMMERCE ADVISORY <br /> BOARD PRIORITIES FROM APRIL 2014 TO MARCH 2015 <br /> WHEREAS, PACAB's responsibilities are listed in SCC§ 2.30.325 Powers and Duties; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, City Council and PACAB held a March 3, 2014 joint work session to <br /> review and update the current Priorities List; and <br /> WHEREAS, at the March 19, 2014 Special Meeting the Port and Commerce Advisory <br /> Board work session the Board reviewed and updated their Priorities List; and <br /> WHEREAS, with the passage of PACAB Resolution 2014-02, PACAB recommends <br /> Council adoption of the 2014 Priority List. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA that: <br /> Section 1. The following List of Port and Commerce Advisory Board Priorities, through <br /> March 2015 is hereby approved by the City Council: <br /> PRIORITIES <br /> 1) Work to recruit industries to Seward including the CDQ fleets and related industries, <br /> Oil & gas related industries, transportation, and commercial fishing. <br /> 2) Help lead Seward Marine Industrial Center (SMIC) development <br /> 3) Prioritize Federal and State Priorities for Port & Commerce Initiatives <br /> 4) Review the Small Boat Harbor Management Plan. <br /> 5) Explore energy alternatives and bring recommendations back to council. <br /> 6) Review taxes, especially vessel property tax. <br /> Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. <br />
