CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA <br /> RESOLUTION 2014-041 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, <br /> ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A <br /> GRANT AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF ALASKA DEPARTMENT <br /> OF COMMERCE, COMMUNITY, AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT <br /> FOR A COMMUNITY COASTAL IMPACT ASSISTANCE GRANT FOR <br /> STATE FY 2010 FOR THE PURPOSE OF DESIGNING AND <br /> CONSTRUCTING A NEW NORTH EAST HARBOR FISH CLEANING <br /> STATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $579,000 AND APPROPRIATING <br /> FUNDS <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Seward applied to the Community Coastal Impact Assistance <br /> Program (CIAP) for funds to replace the NE Harbor Fish Cleaning Station; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Alaska Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic <br /> Development (DCCED) that administers the CIAP grant program has offered grant funds in the <br /> amount of$579,000 to the City of Seward for this project; and <br /> WHEREAS, the purpose of the grant is to improve the harbor facilities that are used by <br /> fishermen and also to protect wildlife; and <br /> WHEREAS,the city intends to use these funds to first design and then build the new fish <br /> cleaning station. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA that: <br /> Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a grant agreement with <br /> DCCED in the amount of$579,000. <br /> Section 2. Funding in the amount of$579,000 is hereby appropriated from State Grant <br /> account no. 277-2771-4680-0200 to the NE Harbor Fish Cleaning Station contracted services <br /> account no 277-2771-5390. <br /> Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately. <br /> PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Seward, Alaska, this 28th day of <br /> April, 2014. <br />
