Sponsored by: Hunt <br /> CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA <br /> RESOLUTION 2014-055 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, <br /> ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO AMEND THE <br /> CONTRACT WITH ARCTIC ELEVATOR COMPANY, LLC., FOR <br /> ELEVATOR MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR,CHANGING THE SCOPE OF <br /> WORK TO INCLUDE THE ELEVATOR IN THE LIBRARY/MUSEUM <br /> BUILDING LOCATED AT 239 6THH AVENUE, AND INCREASING THE <br /> CONTRACT BY AN AMOUNT NOT-TO-EXCEED $250 PER MONTH <br /> WHEREAS,the City of Seward does not currently have a Maintenance and Control Program <br /> for the Library/Museum elevator; and <br /> WHEREAS, Alaska State Statutes and Regulations require the owner of an elevator to <br /> establish a maintenance control program that conforms to Sections 8.6 and 8.11 of the current A17.1 <br /> Safety Code for Elevators and Escalators; and <br /> WHEREAS,in 2011,three bids were received for maintaining the City's elevators located in <br /> City Hall and the Senior/Community Center,finding Arctic Elevator Company,LLC. to be the most <br /> qualified and responsible bidder, with a rate of$250 per month, per elevator; and <br /> WHEREAS,Arctic Elevator Company,LLC.has agreed to include the additional elevator <br /> maintenance and repairs for $250 per month; and <br /> WHEREAS, amending the contract with Arctic Elevator Company, LLC. to include the <br /> Library/Museum elevator will keep the City in compliance with the Alaska State Statutes and <br /> Regulations. <br /> NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF SEWARD, ALASKA that: <br /> Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to amend the contract with Arctic Elevator <br /> Company, LLC. to include the elevator located in the Library/Museum at 239 6th Avenue, Seward <br /> Alaska. <br /> Section 2. The amount of this Amendment is not-to-exceed $250 per month and is in <br /> addition to the original contract. Funding is available in 101-1500-5390. <br /> Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption. <br /> 6.. <br />
