CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA <br /> RESOLUTION 2014-099 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, <br /> ALASKA, RESCINDING RESOLUTION 2014-078 AND AUTHORIZING <br /> THE PURCHASE OF A REPLACEMENT VEHICLE FOR THE PUBLIC <br /> WORKS DEPARTMENT,UNIT#131,IN AN AMOUNT NOT-TO-EXCEED <br /> $32,929 <br /> WHEREAS,the FY 2014 Motor Pool Budget approved by Council Resolution#2013-090 <br /> included$62,000 to replace Public Works' Unit#131, a 1993 3500 4X4 Chevy cab and chassis with <br /> a utility box; and <br /> WHEREAS,on October 13,2014,the City Council passed resolution 2014-078,authorizing <br /> the City Manager to purchase a Ford F450 from Kendall Ford, utilizing the State of Alaska's <br /> Department of Transportation procurement procedures, for an amount not-to-exceed $31,865; and <br /> WHEREAS,Kendall Ford is under new ownership and no longer participates in the State of <br /> Alaska Department of Transportation Light Duty Vehicle Contract program; and <br /> WHEREAS, Cal Worthington Ford is a participant in the State of Alaska Department of <br /> irmo Transportation Light Duty Vehicle Contract#CA1900-14-1,offering the same vehicle for$32,929; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the replacement vehicle will be a 2015 F450 3500 4X4 cab and chassis with <br /> standard work truck specifications utilizing the State of Alaska Department of Transportation <br /> procurement procedures; and <br /> WHEREAS,once the vehicle has been purchased,Public Work Staff will solicit quotes for <br /> the utility box which are estimated to cost roughly$26,000; and <br /> WHEREAS,the replaced vehicle will be sold at the next surplus sale of the City of Seward, <br /> which will be deposited in the Motor Pool Fund for the department; and <br /> WHEREAS, Seward City Code 6.10.120(b) exempts from competitive procurement <br /> requirements/purchases which utilize competitive bids obtained by other government units, and <br /> Public Works is purchasing this vehicle utilizing the State of Alaska purchasing contract. <br /> NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF SEWARD,ALASKA that: <br />
