<br />r~ <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />councilman~~ moves the adoption of the following resolu- <br />tion: <br /> <br />WHEREAS: The consumption of electrical energy in the City <br /> <br />of Seward has increased to a point where additional generating <br /> <br />capacity is required and the City Council deems it necessary to <br /> <br />provide additional capacity to said municipal power plant, and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS: It is necessary for the City of Seward to sell its <br />revenue bonds in an amount sufficient to pay for the purchase of <br />the proposed municipal generating equipment and the necessary or- <br />dinances have been passed to provide for the issuance of said <br />revenue bonds and it appears to the Council that the money will <br />be available therefor within the next days, and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS: Fairbanks, Morse & Co. have submitted a proposal <br />dated for the furnishing of a 4$0 HP, Model 3lA$-l/2 <br />Diesel engine generating set together with auxiliary equipment <br />specified in detail in the said proposal for the sum of ~35,57l.00, <br />and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS: It appears to the Council to be to the best interest <br />of the City of Seward that this equipment be purchased; that it is <br />the most satisfactory equipment for use in the municipal power plant <br />and that it is necessary that the equipment be delivered at the <br />earliest possible time, and to accomplish this, the proposal of said <br />Fairbanks, Morse & Co. be accepted subject to completion of the sale <br />of the said revenue bonds and the money having been made available <br />to the municipality. <br />
