<br />- <br /> <br />TOWN OF' SEWARD, AUSKA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 85 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION CALLING A SPECIAL ELECTION FOR THE PUP-POSE OF <br />DET~UNING WHETHER OR NOT THE QUALIFIED VOTERS OF THE TOWN OF SEWARD, <br />ALASKA, SHOULD AUTHORIZE THE ISSUANCE OF REVENUE BONDS IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO <br />EXCEED SIX HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS (;ji,600,OOO.OO) FOR THE PURPOSE OF PUR- <br />CHASING, REHABILITATING, BETTElUNG AND FINANCING A TELEPHONE SYSTEM, PURSUANT <br />TO TITLE 48, SECTION 44F, U.S.C.A. OR ACT OF CONGRESS OF VJillCH 6, 1946. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Seward, Alaska: <br /> <br />Section 1. Special Election. That a special election be held on <br />October /%~, 1955, at Seward, Alaska, for the purpose of determining <br />whether the Town of Seward shall issue revenue bonds, pursuant to Act of <br />~furch 6, 1946, or 60 Stato 33 in an amount not to exceed Six Hundred <br />Thousand Dollars ($600,000.00) at a maximum interest rate of five (5) per <br />cent per annum, for the purpose of purchasing, rehabilitating, bettering and <br />financing a telephone systemo <br /> <br />Section 20 Form of PropOsition. That at said election the following <br />proposition be submitted to the qualified electors, as hereinafter defined, <br />of the Town of Seward: <br /> <br />Proposition "Alto Shall the Town of Seward, Alaska, issue <br />revenue bonds, payable solely from unpledged revenue of a telephone <br />system, under authority of Act of Harch 6, 1946, in an amount not <br />to exceed Six Hundred Thousand Dollars ($600,000.00) at a maximum <br />interest rate of five (5) per cent per annum, for the purpose of <br />purchasing, rehabilitating, bettering and financing a telephone <br />system? <br /> <br />Section 3. Qualifications for Voters. The qualifications for <br />voters at said election shall be as follows: <br /> <br />(a) They must be citizens of the United States, twenty-one <br />(21) years of age and over. <br /> <br />(b) They must be actual and bona fide residents of Alaska <br />and they must have been such residents continuously during the <br />entire year immediately preceding the election, and must have been <br />such residents continuously for thirty (30) days next preceding <br />the election in the Town of Seward, Alaska. <br /> <br />(c) They must be able to read and write the English language <br />as prescribed and provided in Title 38, Chapter I, Section 2, AoC.L.A. <br />1949, and not barred from voting by any other provtsion of law. <br /> <br />(d) They must have registered at the City Hall, Seward, <br />Alaska, within the time provided by ordinance prior to the election. <br /> <br />Section 4. Registration as Prerequisiteo Registration shall be <br />required as a qualification of the voters at this election as provided by the <br />laws of the Town of Seward. The registration book will be open daily at the <br />office of the Municipal Clerk and Registrar at the City Hall, Town of Seward, <br />Alaska, from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. daily except Saturdays (from 10:00 a.m. <br />untLl 12 :00 noon), Sundays and holidays, ,md until 3 :00 porno, two days before <br />,the said election or until .3:00 p.m., October /S!:i ,1955.
