<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Sponsored by: Janke <br /> <br />CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA <br />RESOLUTION 2001-028 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, <br />ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO APPROPRIATE <br />$33,250 FROM ACCOUNT 101-0-4680-0100 (FEMAREIMBURSEMENT FOR <br />EQUIPMENT RENTAL USED BY PUBLIC WORKS DURING AVALANCHE <br />2000) TO COVER THE BUDGET DEFICIT IN THE FOLLOWING THREE <br />AREA'S; STREETS (1 01-131 O-XXXX), SNOW &ICE (1 0l-1314-XXXX), AND <br />SHOP (10l-1340-XXXX). <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Seward experienced higher than normal snow removal costs during <br />the avalanches in 2000; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has reimbursed the City <br />$53,456.85 for the cost ofthe equipment rental used by the Public Works Department to remove the <br />excess snow during the "Avalanche 2000" period; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Public Works Department exceeded their total budget in the "Streets", <br />"Snow & Ice", and the "Shop" accounts by some $33,250 due to the heavy snowfall, some additional <br />flood control projects, some sidewalk repairs, and some maintenance requirements; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, an appropriation of a portion of the monies ($33,250) paid by FEMA back to <br />the Public Works Department budget for Streets, Snow & Ice, and Shop. will balance the budget for <br />FY 2000 in this area. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: <br /> <br />Section 1. The City Council approves Resolution 2001-028, authorizing the City Manager <br />to appropriate $33,250 from Account 101-0-4680-0100 (FEMA reimbursement for equipment rental <br />used by Public Works during Avalanche 2000) to the Public Works FY 2000 budget to cover the <br />following three area's: Streets (101-131 O-XXXX), Snow & Ice (10 1-1314-XXXX), and Shop (101- <br />1340-XXXX). <br /> <br />Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. <br /> <br />PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 12th <br />day of February, 2001. <br />
