<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Sponsored by: Janke <br /> <br />CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA <br />RESOLUTION 2001-078 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, <br />ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A <br />PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH WILLIS OF ALASKA, <br />INC. TO PROVIDE BROKER/CONSULTING SERVICES TO THE CITY <br />FOR IT'S EMPLOYEE HEALTH BENEFITS FOR AN AMOUNT NOT TO <br />EXCEED $15,000 AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Seward issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a Health Benefits <br />Broker/Consultant to review the City's current employee health care benefits plan, investigate <br />alternative health care delivery options and make recommendations to the City for its employee <br />health care benefits plan; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City received one proposal from Willis of Alaska, Inc. who is a <br />worldwide insurance brokerage and consulting firm with 300 offices in 77 countries and a staff <br />of 10,000; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a committee appointed by the city manager reviewed the proposal received <br />from Willis and found the proposal to be responsive and meet the requirements set out in the RFP; <br />and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Willis has proposed a one year flat fixed fee of $15,000 to include all travel and <br />meeting expenses. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: <br /> <br />Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a professional services <br />agreement with Willis of Alaska, Inc. to provide broker/consulting services to the City for it's <br />employee health benefits for an amount not to exceed $15,000. <br /> <br />Section 2. Funds in the amount of$15,000 is hereby appropriated from the General Fund <br />fund balance, account no. 101-0000-3050 to the General Fund, General Services, Contract Services, <br />account no. 101-1180-5390. <br /> <br />Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. <br /> <br />PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 25th <br />day of June, 2001. <br />
