<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Sponsored by: Janke <br /> <br />CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA <br />RESOLUTION 2001-091 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, <br />ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ISSUE A REQUEST <br />FOR PROPOSALS FOR AN ARCHITECT/ENGINEER TO DESIGN THE <br />4TH AND ADAMS PARK FACILITY INCLUDING A RESTROOM, <br />LANDSCAPING, W ALKW AYS, A BUS STOP WAITING AREA AND <br />OTHER AMENITIES REQUESTED BY THE CITY ADMINISTRATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Seward has purchased the lot at 4th and Adams with the intention <br />of constructing a park which will include the Romtec Restrooms, bus stop waiting area, walkways, <br />and landscaping designed to enhance the attractiveness of the downtown area; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the services of a professionally registered landscape engineer/architect are <br />required to design the entire project in accordance with the concept plan previously adopted by the <br />Council and utilizing the Romtec Restrooms; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is anticipated that such a design can be obtained for approximately $15,000, <br />or less; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Council will have the opportunity to review the selection of the <br />Architect/Engineer after the RFP's have been evaluated. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: <br /> <br />Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to issue a RFP for an Architect/Engineer to design <br />a Park facility at 4th and Adams which wiJI include the Romtec restroom, bus stop waiting area, <br />walkways, and landscaping of the site designed to enhance the attractiveness oftbe downtown area <br />as well as provide a functional facility for the use of tourists and local residents. <br /> <br />Section 2. The Council will be given the opportunity to review the selection ofthe successful <br />applicant prior to the City Manager entering into a contract. <br /> <br />PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 23 day <br />of July, 2001. <br />
