<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Sponsored by: Janke <br /> <br />CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA <br />RESOLUTION 2001-108 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, <br />ALASKA, ACCEPTING THE VOLUNTEER FIRE ASSISTANCE GRANT IN <br />THE AMOUNT OF $2,500 FROM THE STATE OF ALASKA DEPARTMENT <br />OF NATURAL RESOURCES <br /> <br />WHEREAS,the Seward Fire Department applied for and has been awarded a Volunteer Fire <br />Assistance grant from the State of Alaska, Department of Natural Resources, in the amount of <br />$2,500.00; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in order to receive this grant the City will have to commit $2,500 in matching <br />funds and accept the grant; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the grant must be used for purchasing the equipment identified in the grant <br />application (HTlOOO radios and a 1000 gallon fold-a-tank); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, these purchases will better equip the Seward Fire Department in maintaining <br />it's goal of providing maximum protection possible for the life and property of the citizens of Seward <br />and our commitment to the Department of Natural Resources (mutual aid agreement); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the purchases will be made according to existing purchasing policies of the City <br />of Seward; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS,the staffhas identified $2,500 within the current fire department budget (101- <br />1222- Emergency Preparedness) that could be used as the matching funds; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SEWARD, ALASKA. <br /> <br />Section 1. The Volunteer Fire Assistance Grant totaling $2,500 is hereby accepted, with the <br />funds being appropriated from the fire department budget <br /> <br />Section 2. The Fire Chief is hereby authorized to execute on behalf of the City of Seward the <br />2001 Volunteer Fire Assistance Funds Condition Statement Acknowledgment, a copy of which is <br />attached and incorporated herein by reference. <br /> <br />Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately its adoption. <br />
