<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Sponsored by: ~ <br /> <br />CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA <br />RESOLUTION 2001-111 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, <br />ALASKA, ACCEPTING THE STATE OF ALASKA GRANT OF $70,000 FOR <br />THE PURPOSE OF CONSTRUCTING A PUBLIC TRANSIT WAITING <br />AREA AND PUBLIC RESTROOMS TO MEET ADA COMPLIANCE <br />STANDARDS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A <br />GRANT AGREEMENT AND APPROPRIATING THE FUNDS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the 2001 Alaska Legislature provided a $70,000 grant to the City of Seward <br />for the purpose of constructing a public transit waiting area and public restrooms to meet ADA <br />compliance standards; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the bus stop construction, which will include ADA compliant restrooms, <br />would be located at the corner of 4th Avenue and Adams Street; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, local funds will be used in order to complete this project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the State Grant needs to be accepted and the funds appropriated. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: <br /> <br />Section 1. The City of Seward accepts the State of Alaska grant of$70,000 for the purpose <br />of constructing public transit waiting area and public restrooms to meet ADA compliance standards <br />and authorizes the city manager to execute a grant agreement <br /> <br />Section 2. Funding in the amount of $70,000 is hereby appropriated from State Grant <br />Revenues, account 600-6001-4680-0200, to the 4th & Adams Park Capital Project Fund, account <br />600-600 l-5XXX <br /> <br />Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. <br /> <br />PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this W" day <br />of September, 2001, <br />
