<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Sponsored by: <br /> <br />CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA <br />RESOLUTION 2001-114 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, <br />ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE THE <br />ACQUlSmON OF LOT 16, BLOCK 11, LAUBNER ADDmON FOR <br />INCLUSION IN TWO LAKES PARK <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Lot 16, Block 11, Laubner Addition is currently listed for sale by Seward Real <br />Estate Company; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS,this 30 foot by 100 foot lot is currently zoned Urban Residential, and is located <br />immediately south of city-owned park land; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS,the Parks and Recreation Department is interested in acquiring the property as <br />part of Two Lakes Park, in order to maintain a natural buffer between the new Two Lakes Park <br />access trail and adjacent residential development; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there are funds remaining in the now-closed Two Lakes Park - Land and Water <br />Conservation Fund Grant that could be used to acquire the property; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS,the Planning and Zoning Commission held a public hearing at its August 7, 2001 <br />meeting, and recommended that the City Council authorize the acquisition of the property. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: <br /> <br />Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to negotiate a real estate purchase and sale <br />agreement for Lot 16, Block 11, Laubner Addition, with such agreement to be brought back to the <br />City Council for the City Council's further consideration and final approval. ' <br /> <br />Section 2. It is not intended that this resolution approve the proposed described real estate <br />transaction but is to authorize the negotiation of such a purchase and sale agreement. Any <br />subsequent resolution actually approving the real estate transaction shall not take effect until 30 days <br />after passage and posting as required by Seward City Code ~ 7.05.140. <br /> <br />Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. <br /> <br />PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 10th day <br />of September, 2001. <br />
