<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Sponsored by: ~ <br /> <br />CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA <br />RESOLUTION 2001-121 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, <br />ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A <br />PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH CRW ENGINEERING <br />GROUP TO PROVIDE DESIGN SERVICES FOR WATER AND SEWER <br />LINES TO SERVICE SEWARD SHIP'S ($62,029) AND REVIEW AND MAKE <br />RECOMMENDATIONS ON THE EPA PERMIT FOR THE LOWELL POINT <br />SEWAGE LAGOON ($1,680) <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the State of Alaska has provided a $1 million grant to the City of Seward for <br />improvements at Seward Ship's repair facility in the SMIC area; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in order to allow construction of new buildings in the repair facility, certain <br />water and sewer improvements are necessary and need to be designed by a professional engineer <br />qualified in water/sewer design; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, CRW group has submitted a proposal to do this design for a cost of $62,029, <br />including a 5% contingency; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, CRW is well qualified to do this work since they have worked for several years <br />with the City of Seward on Water/Sewer design projects; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS,CRW has also submitted a price to review and make recommendations regarding <br />the Lowell Point Sewage Lagoon permit which is being reviewed and modified by the EP A, at a cost <br />of$1,680. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: <br /> <br />Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a Professional Services Agreement <br />with CRW group to perform design services for water and sewer lines in the SMIC area, and to <br />review and make recommendations on the EP A revised permit for the Lowell Point Sewage Lagoon; <br />for a total cost of$63,709. <br /> <br />Section 2. Funding to be from Account 669-6690-5390, Shipyard Improvements, Contracted <br />Services for the SMIC design; and from the 2001 budget for the Lowell Point Sewage Lagoon Permit <br />reVIew. <br />
