<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Sponsored by: ~ <br /> <br />CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA <br />RESOLUTION 2001-126 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, <br />ALASKA, APPROVING THE CITY MANAGER'S FINDING THAT THE <br />CITY'S AMBULANCE KNOWN AS MEDIC n IS NO LONGER NEEDED <br />BY THE CITY OF SEWARD AND DONATION OF THE AMBULANCE <br />TO THE VILLAGE OF TATITLEK IN PRINCE WILLIAM SOUND <br /> <br />WHEREAS, with the recent purchase of a new ambulance by the Seward Volunteer <br />Ambulance Corps (SV AC), SV AC has written to the city manager that they no longer need the <br />city's ambulance known as Medic II; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, with the approval of the city manager, SV AC contacted other <br />communities that may be in need of a used ambulance and have recommended that the city <br />donate Medic II to the village of Tatitlek based upon their need, their willingness to house the <br />unit and transport it to their community; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Seward City Code ~7.01.01O provides that the city manager may make a <br />written fmding that city personal property is no longer necessary for corporate or public <br />purposes and may offer the property for sale or donate the property to a nonprofit <br />organization; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the city manager has determined that the City no longer needs the <br />ambulance for corporate or public purposes; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, while the city code allows the city manager to donate surplus personal <br />property to a non-profit organization, the city manager is requesting that the city council <br />approve the donation given the cost of the ambulance and the importance the ambulance has <br />been to the community. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: <br /> <br />Section 1. The Council approves the city manager's finding that the city's ambulance <br />known as Medic II is no longer needed by the city of Seward. <br /> <br />Section 2. The Council hereby approves the city manager's donation of the ambulance <br />known as Medic II to the village of Tatitlek in Prince William Sound. <br />
