<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Sponsored by: Historic Preservation Commission <br /> <br />CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA <br />RESOLUTION 2000-048 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, <br />ALASKA, ACCEPTING AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR A <br />REIMBURSABLE HISTORIC PRESERVATION GRANT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the State Office of History and Archaeology has reimbursable matching grant <br />funds available for Certified Local Governments to attend the National Alliance of Preservation <br />Commissions Pittsburgh Forum 2000 on August 4-6; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the conference registration and travel expenses will be reimbursed one hundred <br />percent by the grant because the Commissioner=s time traveling to and attending the conference <br />provides the City=s 40% match; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, four members of the Historic Preservation Commission have expressed an <br />interest in attending the Pittsburgh Forum 2000; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, no training or travel funds were budgeted for the Historic Preservation <br />Commission; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, due to the financial burden of these costs, the Commission has requested that <br />the City provide the initial funds for the conference travel and registration; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Seward will be one hundred percent reimbursed for the appropriated <br />funds through a State Office of History and Archaeology grant. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: <br /> <br />Section 1. The City of Seward Alaska accept a Reimbursable grant from the Office of <br />History and Archaeology in the estimated amount of six thousand dollars. <br /> <br />Section 2. Funds in the amount of six thousand dollars is hereby appropriated from State <br />Revenue Grant 890-8903-4680-0200 to Historic Preservation Fund Travel and Training 890- <br />8903-5XXX. <br /> <br />Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. <br /> <br />PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 8th day <br />of May, 2000. <br />
