<br />I <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br /> <br />Sponsored by: Janke <br /> <br />CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA <br />RESOLUTION 2000-050 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, <br />ALASKA, ADOPTING THE SEWARD PORT AND HARBOR TARIFF, <br />INCLUDING ADDITION OF FEES FOR EQUIPMENT USAGE, USED OIL <br />RECOVERY SERVICES, CHANGING TRA VELIFT FEE CALCULATION <br />TO QUARTER HOUR INCREMENTS AFTER THE FIRST HOUR VERSUS <br />HALF HOUR INCREMENTS, ELIMINATING THE TIERED RATE <br />SCHEDULE FOR DAILY MOORAGE'IN FAVOR OF A SET RATE PER <br />LINEAL FOOT OF OVERALL LENGTH, AND OTHER MINOR FEES AND <br />TERMINOLOGY CHANGES. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Seward Port and Harbor Tariffis the basis by which the Harbor Department <br />charges for services provided the maritime industry; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the department attempts to keep the document updated based upon the latest <br />information and studies available which reflect the market and trends in the industry: and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Seward Port and Harbor Tariffhas not been updated since July 1998 and <br />several inconsistencies and word changes were required in order to make the tariff match existing <br />practices as well as to clarify certain areas; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the major changes involve adding a fee for major repairs and maintenance <br />activities in the upland boat storage area, eliminating the tiered daily rate schedule in favor of a <br />standard rate per lineal foot, adding an equipment fee schedule against which to bill out incidental <br />services and adding a used oil and substance fee schedule against which to bill large used oil recovery <br />services; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, other minor changes include changing "City of Seward" to "Shiplift Operator" <br />where appropriate concerning the SyncroLift facility, changing the Travelift fee calculation to 1/4 <br />hour increments from 1/2 hour increments after the first hour, and changing standard and overtime <br />rates for labor consistent with tariff studies conducted within the state; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this revised tariff has been reviewed by the Port and Commerce Advisory <br />Board, which passed a resolution supporting adoption of this revised tariff. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: <br /> <br />Section 1. The Seward Port and Harbor Tariff, attached hereto and incorporated by <br />reference, is hereby adopted. <br />
