<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Sponsored by: Planning and Zoning Commission <br /> <br />CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA <br />RESOLUTION 2000-051 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, <br />ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE HARBOR UPLANDS PLATTING PRO- <br />JECT, APPROPRIATING FUNDS FROM THE HARBOR RETAINED <br />EARNINGS FUND FOR THE PROJECT AND AWARDING A CONTRACT <br />TO INTEGRITY SURVEYS FOR AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $7,500 <br />FOR COMPLETION OF THE HARBOR UPLANDS PLATTING PROJECT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Seward owns most of the uplands surrounding the Seward Small <br />Boat Harbor; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a significant amount ofthis property is leased on a long term basis, and the <br />remainder is used for parking, fire/access lanes, and the harbormaster building and plaza; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, much of the leased land in the harbor has not been properly platted to <br />identify the various lease sites; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the lack of platted lot lines and dedicated right-of-ways has resulted in <br />problems with building and fire code reviews, assigning street addresses and identifying lease <br />sites; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, as a land owner the City has a responsibility to properly survey and plat the <br />City owned harbor uplands; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at its May 9, 2000 meeting, the Planning and Zoning Commission reviewed <br />and recommended City Council approval of the proposed harbor platting project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, as authorized by Seward City Code 6.10.115, and 6.10.120, a competitive <br />procurement procedure is not required by professional services such as surveying; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Integrity Surveys has the professional experience, qualifications, and <br />required insurance necessary to complete the project. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: <br /> <br />Section 1. The City Council hereby approves the Harbor Plat Project with a total <br />estimated project cost of$II,OOO.OO. <br />
