<br />Sponsored by Staff <br /> <br />CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA <br />HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2S:OS <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE SEWARD HISTORIC PRESERVATION <br />COMMISSION, RECOMMENDING THAT THE CITY COUNCIL ESTABLISH A <br />SPECIAL REVENUE ACCOUNT, APPROPRIATE FUNDS AND ADJUST THE <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT BUDGET TO FACILITATE THE <br />COMPLETION OF PHASE II OF THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION PLAN <br /> <br />WHEREAS, SCC ~ 2.30.425 states that it is the responsibility of the Historic Preservation <br />Commission to develop a historic preservation plan that will include provisions for the <br />identification, protection and interpretation of the area's significant resources; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, phase I of the Seward Historic Preservation Plan was completed in 1993, <br />with the assistance of funds from the Alaska Department of Natural Resources, Division of Parks <br />and Outdoor Recreation, State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Resolution No. 94-200, authorized the City administration to apply for Fiscal <br />Year 1995, historic preservation grant funds; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City has been awarded a matching grant in the amount of $7,503.00 from <br />SHPO for completion of phase II of the Preservation Plan; and <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Seward Historic Preservation <br />Commission that: <br /> <br />Section 1. A proposed resolution, attached and incorporated herein by reference, <br />recommending that the City Council establish a special revenue account, appropriate funds and <br />adjust the Community Development Department budget to facilitate phase II completion of the <br />Seward Historic Preservation Plan. <br /> <br />Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. <br /> <br />PASSED AND APPROVED by the Seward Historic Preservation Commission this 15th <br />day of March, 1995. <br />
