<br />Sponsored by: Staff <br /> <br />CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA <br />PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br />RESOLUTION 2003-02 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION OF THE SEWARD PLANNING AND ZONING <br />COMMISSION, RECOMMENDING CITY COUNCIL AND KENAI <br />PENINSULA BOROUGH APPROVAL OF THE PRELIMINARY <br />PLAT REVIEW OF THE SCHAFER PROPERTY (OLYMPIA <br />DRIVE) RIGHT OF WAY ACQUISITION, CONSISTING OF <br />PORTIONS OF SECTION LOT 1 AND THE NE ~ OF THE NE ~ <br />OF THE SECTION 33 TOWNSHIP 1 NORTH, RANGE 1 WEST, <br />SEWARD MERIDIAN, ALASKA, CITY OF SEWARD, SEWARD <br />RECORDING DISTRICT, CONTAINING 2.28 ACRES <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Cline & Associates submitted a preliminary plat for the Schafer <br />Property (Olympia Drive) right of way acquisition, consisting of portions of Section Lot <br />I and the NE Y. of the NE Y. Section 33 Township I North, Range I West, Seward <br />Meridian, Alaska, City of Seward, Seward Recording District, containing 2.28 acres to <br />the City of Seward for review and recommendation to the Kenai Peninsula Borough; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the proposed right of way is an important component of future <br />water and sewer utility development in the Forest Acres area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the proposed right of way supports development of needed <br />residential land: and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the new right of way meets the minimum width requirements of the <br />Kenai Peninsula Borough; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in accordance with Seward City Code, the Commission held a <br />public hearing on the preliminary plat at its February 4,2003 regular meeting. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Seward Planning and Zoning <br />Commission that: <br /> <br />Section 1. The Commission recommends Seward City Council and Kenai <br />Peninsula Borough approval of the Schafer Property (Olympia Drive) right-of-way <br />acquisition, consisting of portions of Section Lot I and the NE Y. of the NE Y. Section 33 <br />Township I North, Range I West, Seward Meridian, Alaska, City of Seward, Seward <br />Recording District, containing 2.28 acres subject to the following conditions: <br /> <br />1. The Right-of-Way name shall be determined on the plat. The name shall be <br />determined to provide continuity with the intended connection uphill and to <br />
