Garzini encouraged approval of the proposed hospital heliport. <br />He stated that a heliport at the hospital would provide a critical life-safety service for the <br />community. He noted that if the Commission denied the request, he intended to appeal because <br />it was the Council's responsibility to ensure the community's health and safety. He expressed <br />support for updating the Comprehensive Plan. He expressed his support of amending the Land <br />Use Plan along First and Second Avenue to Two-Family Residential (R2). He stated that the <br />Commission had a responsibility to move forward on the various rezone and conditional use <br />permit applications that were submitted in accordance with the existing planning and zoning <br />regulations. <br /> <br />CITIZENS' COMMENTS ON AGENDA ITEMS NOT SCHEDULED FOR PUBLIC <br />HEARING <br /> <br />DAVE DERUWE, 517 First Avenue, stated he was opposed to Lot 25, Marathon <br />Addition being rezoned to Urban Residential (UR). He added that he had no objection to the <br />property being rezoned to R2. <br /> <br />CAROL GRISWOLD, 412 First Avenue, supported the administration's recommendation <br />to amend the Land Use Plan designation of property along First and Second Avenue to R2. She <br />voiced concern over the proposed heliport to the west of her property and opposed the proposed <br />teen center/church immediately east of her property. <br /> <br />TOM OSBORNE, 102 Madison, requested that the Commission move Item 7.C, <br />regarding a petition to amend the Land Use Plan designation of property along First and Second <br />Avenue prior to all other public hearing items. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF AGENDA AND CONSENT AGENDA <br /> <br />MOTION (Niebrugge/Kincheloe) <br /> <br />Approve the Agenda and Consent Agenda. <br /> <br />---_..-~.....__..~.._--_.- -- ---_.~-~-_..-.~.~.-'-~~ <br />
