<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Sponsored by: Janke <br /> <br />CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA <br />RESOLUTION 2000-063 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, <br />ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO INCREASE THE <br />AUTHORIZED AMOUNT OF GMG GENERAL INC. FOR PAVING BY <br />$17,045 TO COVER PAVING OF TWO BIKE PA THS ON JEFFERSON AND <br />4TH A VENUE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The administration has received a $56,000 grant from the State of Alaska to <br />install Bike Paths in various locations in the City of Seward; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, A new Bike path along the north side of Jefferson, between 3rd Avenue and <br />Glacier View Apartments will cost approximately $3,612; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, A new bike path along 4th Avenue from the end of the existing Bike Path at 4th <br />Avenue and Van Buren Street, along the East side of 4th Avenue to the paved area just south of the <br />boat launch ramp on 4th Avenue will cost approximately $6,480; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The total amount requested as an additional authorized amount for GMG <br />General Inc. is $17,045; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, It is important to do this work while a paver is in town, <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: <br /> <br />Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to increase the authorized amount for paving by <br />GMG General Inc. by $17,045 to cover paving for two additional Bike Paths ofJefferson Street and <br />4th Avenue. <br /> <br />Section 2. Funding is to be from a State Grant as accepted by Council, Account No. 289- <br />2890-5390. <br /> <br />Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. <br /> <br />PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 12th day <br />ofJune, 2000. <br />
