<br />" i <br /> <br />PAGE 141 <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING - JANUARY 9, 1978 <br /> <br />VOLUME 18 <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER: <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Seward City Council of January 9, 1978, <br />was called to order at 7:35 p.m. immediately following adjournment of an <br />executive session regarding the International Brotherhood of Electrical <br />Worker's contract with the City of Seward. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />II. <br /> <br />OPENING CEREMONY: <br /> <br />Councilmember Potts led the pledge of allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br />III. ROLL CALL: <br /> <br />Present were: Mayor Hugli; Councilmembers Campbell, Gillespie, <br />Mott, Potts and Vincent (Absent, with Council <br />consent, was Leer) <br /> <br />Present also: City Manager Johnson, City Clerk-Treasurer Shanley <br />and Clerk/Typist Faust <br /> <br />IV. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES: <br /> <br />It was moved by Gillespie, seconded by Campbell and unanimously <br />carried by all those present to approve the minutes of December 19, 1977, <br />as written. <br /> <br />V. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF CONSENT CALENDAR AND REGULAR MEETING AGENDA: <br /> <br />City Manager requested that the following be added to the regular <br />meeting agenda: <br /> <br />VII. <br /> <br />Public Hearings: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />C. Public hearing on parking regulations as <br />contained in proposed zoning ordinance <br /> <br />It was moved by Mott, seconded by Potts and unanimously carried by all those <br />present to approve the regular meeting agenda as amended and the consent <br />calendar as presented and the following actions we~e taken: <br /> <br />LOC ORGS: <br /> <br />1. Seward Senior Citizens' "Application for Permit <br />for Authorized Games of Chance and Skill" for <br />calendar year 1978 was approved and the Mayor <br />was authorized to sign the applications. <br /> <br />ABCB: <br /> <br />2. Mini Mall Stop In's application to the Alcoholic <br />Beverage Control Board for designation as a <br />restaurant to service those under 19 years of <br />age was approved and the Mayor was authorized <br />to sign the application. <br /> <br />LEG REPS: <br /> <br />3. Memorandum from Senator Mike Colletta received <br />December 29, 1977, regarding citizens' parti- <br />cipation in drafting a legislative bill regarding <br />alcohol abuse was noted for information and filed. <br /> <br />POLICE DEPT: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />4. Federal Bureau of Investigation letter dated <br />December 9, 1977, notifying of Police Chief <br />Bencardino's graduation from the FBI National <br />Academy was noted for information and filed. <br /> <br />C Z M: <br /> <br />5. Northrim Associates letter dated December 23, <br />1977, regarding the Alaska Coastal Management <br />Program was noted for information and filed. <br /> <br />PKS & REC: <br /> <br />6. "Seward Recreation Department Schedule" for <br />January 1978 was noted for information and filed. <br /> <br />
