<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Sponsored by: Janke <br /> <br />CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA <br />RESOLUTION 2000-069 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, <br />ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A <br />CONTRACT FOR PROFESSIONAL COMPUTER CONSULTING SER- <br />VICES BETWEEN THE CITY OF SEWARD AND MICHAEL W. MEEKS <br />D.B.A. MWM CONSULTING FOR THE PERIOD JULY 1, 2000 THROUGH <br />DECEMBER 31,2000 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on February 15, 1995, the City entered into a professional services contract with <br />Michael W. Meeks, d.b.a. MWM Consulting, (the Contractor) to provide computer consulting <br />services; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the contract was for one year, with four one year extensions, upon approval by <br />the City and the Contractor; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the final extension was approved by Council on June 28, 1999 for the period <br />July 1, 1999 through June 30,2000; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a new six month contract for the period July 1,2000 through December 31, <br />2000 is being requested from the City administration; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Seward City Code ~6.1O.120 (A) (8) allows for the purchase of professional <br />services without utilizing the competitive bid process; and <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the new contract will coincide with the City's new fiscal year (calendar year); <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the new contract will allow the City to discuss the various options for computer <br />consulting services for the calendar year 2001 budget; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Contractor will continue to provide a high level of response and service by <br />continuing to make the City a priority among his clientele, making regular contacts with computer <br />system users, and will continue to respond quickly to emergency needs; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the need for more computer consulting services continues to increase as the City <br />adds computer systems and as the technology continues to change at a very fast pace; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, funding for the six month contract has been provided for in the calendar year <br />2000 budget: <br /> <br />... <br />
