CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
ORDINANCE 2000-04
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AMENDING THE ZONING OF LOTS 21-23, BLOCK 10,
LAUBNER ADDITION FROM SINGLE-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL TO
URBAN RESIDENTIAL
WHEREAS, the owners of Lots 21-23, Block 10, Laubner Addition, have requested that the
Land Use Plan and Zoning designation of the referenced property be amended to Auto Commercial;
and
WHEREAS, if the preferred Land Use Plan and Zoning amendment to Auto Commercial was
not approved, the applicant requested that the above-referenced property be rezoned to Urban
Residential in conformance with the Land Use Plan; and
WHEREAS, the current Land Use Plan designation of the property is Urban Residential and
the Zoning is Single-Family Residential; and
WHEREAS, adjacent property to the north, and across Second Avenue to the west is
planned and zoned Urban Residential; and
WHEREAS, the Comprehensive Plan recommends against expanding the boundaries of the
Auto Commercial zoning district; and
WHEREAS, changing the zoning to Urban Residential is consistent with both the
Comprehensive and Strategic Plans in that it will bring the zoning into conformance with the Land
Use Plan; and
WHEREAS, at the February 2,2000 meeting, the Planning and Zoning Commission held a
public hearing and recommended that the City Council amend the zoning of Lots 21-23, Block 10,
Laubner Addition to Urban Residential.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
HEREBY ORDAINS that:
Section 1. The City of Seward Zoning Map is amended by changing the zoning designation
of Lots 21-23, Block 10, Laubner Addition from Single-Family Residential to Urban Residential.
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect ten (10) days following its enactment.
