<br />RESOLUTION 2002-08 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING CREATION OF STAFF SUPPORT FOR THE <br />PORT AND COMMERCE ADVISORY BOARD <br /> <br />WHEREAS, staff support for the board has in the past been provided as available from <br />either the manager's office, the harbormasters office, or the members themselves; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the missions of the board can be better met by creating a secure position <br />whose only job is providing support to the board; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, such support should consist of communications, research, packet and <br />agenda development, reporting, keeping ofthe minutes, and other related tasks; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, adequately fulfilling these duties could not be reasonably accomplished <br />with less than a halftime position. <br /> <br />NOW BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED BY THE SEWARD PORT AND <br />COMMERCE ADVISORY BOARD THAT: <br /> <br />SECTION 1: The board requests that the City recognize the contribution of the board by <br />creating a position to better enable the board to fulfill its responsibilities to the Council. <br /> <br />SECTION 2: That funding the position be considered during this 2003 budget cycle. <br /> <br />SECTION 3: That this Resolution take effect immediately. <br /> <br />The City of Seward <br /> <br />failed <br /> <br />Deborah Altermatt, Chair <br />
