City Manager Hire
This is the end stages of the city manager hiring process. Interviews have been conducted, both
telephonically and in-person, reference checks are completed and you have the essay questions in
written form from all the candidates.
You must make a motion to go into executive session.
Into executive session ------------------ To discuss the candidates and your choices.
Out of executive session ---------------1 foresee possibly making two motions. One to enter into
negotiations with the candidate of your first choice, and one to appoint a committee to conduct
the negotiations. Examples of those motions are below for your convenience if needed.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Seward City
Council will conduct a special meeting on the following
items of business on March 6,2007.

employment offer with a candidate for city manager, subject to
successful negotiations and a criminal background check.
The special meeting will COIl1Il1ence at 12:00 p.m., (noon) or as Soon
thereafter as business permits, in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 410
Adams Street, Seward. All interested persons are invited to attend the
meeting and participate in the discussion; or, written comments may be sent
