RESOLUTION 2006-01
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SE RD, ALASKA,
ENTERING INTO AN OPERATING AGREEMENT WITH IRON OUNTAIN
SHOOTING CLUB AND A LEASE WITH THE KENAI PENIN LA BOROUGH
REGARDING THE LAND PARCEL DESCRIBED AS SWl/4 1/4NE1/4 AND THE
S1/2NW1/4NE1/4 Section 28, T1N, R1 W, S.M., SEWARD CORDINGD DISTRICT,
THIRD JUDICIAL DISTRICT, STATE OF ALASKA
WHEREAS, the Kenai Peninsula Borough has offered the City of Seward the opportunity to
lease a portion of land for a shooting range; and
WHEREAS, the Iron Mountain Shootin lub has been operating the shooting range in a
prior Operations Agreement with the America egions; and
WHEREAS, the American Legio s has decided to terminate the lease with the Kenai
Peninsula Borough; and
WHEREAS, the Kenai Peni~ula Borough has offered the lease to the City of Seward; and
WHEREAS, the Iron ountain Shooting Club has maintained a desire to operate the
shooting range on the leased p operty; and
WHEREAS, the ty recognizes that the shooting range fulfills a service in the community;
and
WHEREAS he City would like to lease the property for the purpose of a shooting range to
be operated by the on Mountain Shooting Club.
NOW, ~IIEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWA ,ALASKA, that:
Se ion 1. The recitals are incorporated herein as City Council findings by this reference.
The leas agreement with the Kenai Peninsula Borough, in substantial form as presented at this
meetin s hereby approved, and the City Manager is authorized to make such changes or corrections
as nee ed to finalize the lease transaction without changing the essential terms and conditions and is
auth 'zed to execute the lease and any related documents as needed to complete this lease
