<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Sponsored by: Shealy <br /> <br />CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA <br />RESOLUTION 2004-002 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, <br />ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO AUTHORIZE THE <br />ENGINEERING FIRM OF DRYDEN & LARUE TO CONTINUE <br />ENGINEERING SERVICES ON THE RELOCATIONIRECONDUCTORING <br />OF THE 69 KV TRANSMISSION LINE AND THE 12.5 KV DISTRIBUTION <br />LINE BETWEEN MILES 3.0 AND 3.5 FOR AN ADDITIONAL FEE OF <br />$14,500 CHANGING THE TOTAL AUTHORIZATION FOR THIS PROJECT <br />TO $71,500 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City has received authorization from the State of Alaska to engineer and <br />relocate our transmission and distribution facilities adjacent to the three bridges on the Seward <br />Highway at State expense, for which Council has previously authorized $57,000; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City desires to continue the rebuilding ofthe transmission and distribution <br />facilities beyond the end ofthe State authorized project to the City owned Pole Yard at mile 3.5, a <br />distance of approximately 2100 Feet; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this will replace a section ofthe Transmission and Distribution line which we <br />were unable to complete during the last reconstruction of the T -line due to lack of funds; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City has previously engaged the services of Dryden & LaRue to do the <br />engineering for the relocation but the firm is requesting an additional $14,500 to complete this <br />work, bringing the total authorized for the engineering of this project to $71,500. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: <br /> <br />Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to engage the engineering firm of Dryden & <br />LaRue to continue engineering services on the relocationlreconductoring ofthe 69 kV Transmission <br />line and the 12.5 kV Distribution line between miles 3.0 and 3.5, for an additional fee of$14,500, <br />bringing the total authorized amount for this project to $71,500. Funding for the additional amount <br />is available in account 501-5410-5390. <br /> <br />Section 2. <br /> <br />This resolution to take effect immediately. <br /> <br />PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 12th <br />day of January, 2004. <br />
