RESOLUTION 2008-20
A RESOLUTION OF THF. SEWARD PLANNING AND ZONING
COMMISSION OF TIIE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, ADOPTING THE
RULES OF PROCEDURE FOR THE PLANNING AND 7.OMNG
COMMTSSION
WHEREAS, at the May 8, 2008 Planning and Zoning meeting the Commission approved
the Planning Commission Priorities for 2008; and
WHEREAS, one of the priorities was to develop the Planning and Zoning Commission
Rules of Procedure: and
WIIEREAS, the Rules of Procedures for the Planning and 'coning Commission were
prepared by City staff and many of the provisions were taken from the Seward City Code,
Seward City Charter, Alaska Statutes and City Council Rules of Procedures; and
WHEREAS, the Rules of Procedure for the Planning and Zoning Commission is a set of
rules to guide the Planning and Zoning Commission in carrying out the public process and assist
~._. the Commissioners in carrying out the duties of their office; and
WHEREAS, lailure to adhere to the Rules of Procedure for the Plaiming and 7,oning
Commission does not invalidate any Commission actions; and
WHEREAS, the Commission reviewed the Rules of Procedw• for the Planning and
Coning Commission at the September 10, ?008, October 21, 2008 and December 2, 2008 work
sessions.
NOW, THEREFORE, IIE IT RESOLVED by the Seward Planning and Zoning
Commission that:
Section L The Commission adopts the Rules of Procedures for the Planning and Zoning
Commission.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the Seward Planning and `Coning Commission this 16th day of
December 2008.
