City of Seward, Alaska <br />Ju~~e 24, 2009 City Council Mrnartes <br />Volume 38, Pa e 110 <br />CALI, TO ORDER <br />The June 24, 2009 special meeting of the Seward City Council was called to order at 5:23 <br />p.m. by Vice Mayor Willard Dunham <br />OPENING CEREMONY <br />Fire Chief David Squires led the pledge of allegiance to the flag. <br />ROLL CALL <br />There were present: <br />Willard Dunham presiding and Jean Bardarson <br />Betsy Kellar Tom Smith <br />comprising a quorum of the Council; and <br />Kirsten Vesel, Assistant City Manager <br />Jean Lewis, City Clerk <br />David Squires, Fire Chief <br />ABSENT -Clark Corbridge, Marianna Keil, Bob Valdatta <br />CITIZENS' COMMENTS ON ANY SUBJECT EXCEPT THOSE ITEMS SCHEDULED <br />FOR PUBLIC HEARING -None <br />APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />Motion (Bardarson/Kellar) Approval of Agenda <br />Motion Passed Unanimous <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Resolution 2009-055. Authorizing The Discharge Of Fireworks For Carlile Transportation <br />Systems During The 2009 Independence Day Celebration. <br />Motion (Kellar/Bardarson) Approve Resolution 2009-055 <br />Assistant City Manager Kirsten Vesel stated Carlile Transportation systems had requested <br />a permit from the city to conduct a fireworks display in conjunction with the 4`" of July festivities for <br />a family event on their property on Mile 2 of Nash Road, which was inside the city limits and needed <br />council approval. The site was approved by the Fire Chief, insurance was produced and Vesel <br />recommended the approval of this resolution. <br />Motion Passed Unanimous <br />
